Dr. Carolyn Jacob is more than a physician — she is a nationally recognized leader in dermatology, cosmetic surgery, and laser medicine. As a Board-Certified Dermatologist, Harvard-trained Cosmetic and Laser Surgeon, and Associate Clinical Professor at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine, Dr. Jacob combines medical excellence with a refined aesthetic eye to deliver results that are as safe as they are transformative. She is the Founder and Medical Director of Chicago Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology, a premier destination for advanced skin and body care in the heart of River North.  Dr. Jacob’s academic achievements reflect her lifelong dedication to excellence. A High Honors graduate of Indiana University with a B.S. in Biology, she went on to graduate in the top 10 of her class at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Northwestern’s Evanston Hospital, then served as Chief Resident of Dermatology at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Jacob further refined her expertise through a prestigious Cosmetic and Laser Surgery Fellowship at Harvard Medical School, Skin Care Physicians — one of the most respected programs in the nation. Internationally regarded as an expert in cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Jacob is at the forefront of innovation in injectables, energy-based devices, and advanced laser treatments. She trains dermatologists and residents across the U.S. and abroad in cosmetic injectables and cutting-edge technologies, shaping the future of the field. Dr. Corey L. Hartman is a board-certified dermatologist and the founder and medical director of Skin Wellness Dermatology in Birmingham, Alabama. He also serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. A native of New Orleans, Dr. Hartman earned a BA in Psychology from Emory University and his MD from Meharry Medical College. He completed an Internal Medicine internship at Tulane University Medical Center and a Dermatology residency at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Hartman has a special interest in dermatologic surgery, injectables, hair restoration, and laser dermatology. He has trained at UCLA and Howard University, gaining expertise in cosmetic procedures for all skin types. He is an Allergan Advanced Injector Trainer and a speaker for Skinceuticals and Scientis. He serves on advisory boards for Men’s Health Magazine, Allergan Aesthetics, Galderma Aesthetics, Revision Skin Care, and the Skin of Color Society. Since 2016, Dr. Hartman has taught cosmetic dermatology to UAB third-year residents. He is actively involved in the Birmingham community through Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, the Oasis Counseling Center, and the Oakworth Capital Bank Central Alabama Advisory Board. Dr. Hartman lives in Homewood with his wife, Dr. Erika B. Hartman, and their children. Outside the office, he enjoys tennis, traveling, exploring new cultures, and spending time with family and friends.

Roy G. Geronemus, MD, is one of the world’s leading lasers and cosmetic dermatology experts. He graduated from Harvard University, and pursued his medical education at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He has been involved with the clinical development of multiple laser systems and related technologies, including the pulsed dye laser (Vbeam, Prima, Vbeam Pro), Ruby, Nd:Yag, Picosecond, CO2, Erbium, Fraxel, Clear + Brilliant, Fraxel Repair, Thermage, Sofwave, Genius radiofrequency with microneedling, LaseMD, Accure, Miria, Gentlewave LED, and Coolsculpting, amongst others. He is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at New York University Medical Center, where he founded its laser program and served nine years as chief of dermatologic and laser surgery. He is past president of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery. Dr. Geronemus’ exceptional contributions to the field have been recognized with prestigious awards. The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery has honored him with the Ellet Drake Award for outstanding contributions to laser medicine and the Leon Goldman Award for excellence in clinical laser research. The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) has awarded him the Samuel J. Stegman Award for distinguished service, and the University of Miami School of Medicine has elected him into their Alumni Hall of Fame. His dedication to patient care has been acknowledged with the Physician of the Year honor from the Vascular Birthmark Foundation and their Humanitarian Award in 2014. Dr. Geronemus received the inaugural Vic Narurkar, MD, Innovations in Aesthetic Dermatology Lectureship Award from the ASDS in 2019 for advancing the craft and art of aesthetic dermatology through innovation, creativity, and technology. He has been recognized by New York Magazine as one of New York’s top dermatologists 28 times and voted one of the New York Times Magazine’s Super Doctors 18 times. He has also been rated one of America’s Top Doctors 20 times and America’s Top Doctors for Cancer 16 times.

Dr. Susan Weinkle is an esteemed Mohs Surgeon and Cosmetic Dermatologist with over 30 years of experience. She is recognized for her exceptional skills and expertise in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, having trained under Dr. Frederic Mohs, the pioneer of this groundbreaking skin cancer therapy. Dr. Weinkle is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery. After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Florida in 1975, Dr. Weinkle earned her Medical Degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1978. She completed her Dermatology training at Stanford University in 1982, where she served as Chief Resident. In 1984, she established her private practice in Bradenton, Florida, and has since been dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. Dr. Weinkle's commitment to advancing the field of dermatology is evident through her active involvement in various professional organizations and societies. She has held significant positions on the Board of Directors and chaired numerous committees in esteemed organizations such as the American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatology Foundation, and Florida Society of Dermatology for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Weinkle also served as the Past President of the Women's Dermatological Society and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Weinkle was honored with the prestigious Rose Hirschler Award in 2010, recognizing her outstanding contributions to medicine and dermatology while promoting the role of women in the field. Passionate about teaching, Dr. Weinkle is an assistant clinical professor of Dermatology at the University of South Florida. She is a highly sought-after lecturer at national and international dermatology meetings, where she shares her expertise with fellow dermatologists and plastic surgeons. Dr. Weinkle has authored numerous articles on skin carcinomas, surgical techniques, and cosmetic therapies. Her insights and knowledge are valued as she serves on the medical advisory and editorial boards of reputable dermatological publications, including the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology and the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery. Leading newspapers and magazines like The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Good Housekeeping, and Redbook have recognized her expertise. Dr. Susan Weinkle's dedication to her patients, commitment to education, and extensive contributions to the field of dermatology have solidified her reputation as a highly respected and influential physician.

Dr. Sarah Sawyer is a board certified, fellowship-trained dermatologist. She obtained expert skills in general dermatology before seeking further training in cosmetic dermatology, laser surgery, and skin cancer therapy. Dr. Sawyer founded Dermatology & Laser of Alabama in 2007 with a desire to represent the latest, most effective options in cosmetic dermatology. Her goal has always been to help patients navigate to make the best personalized choices, while finding a balanced approach to anti-aging and beauty. “My philosophy has been to take care of not just the physical appearance of the patients, but the other aspects as well. I counsel patients about how to age in a healthy way, including eating right, exercising, and limiting excessive sun exposure. I dicuss options with patients before we take on a cosmetic plan to help them sort through all the noise they hear in the media!” Dr. Sawyer has been the top injector of Botox and soft tissue filler in Alabama since 2009, and oversees the largest collection of laser devices in the state. Her artful work has secured her reputation for natural-looking results while guiding patients to simply be the best version of themselves. In addition to her busy practice, Dr. Sawyer enjoys giving back to the community and supporting a variety of local nonprofits. She also enjoys traveling out west and studying integrative & alternative medical therapies. EDUCATION According to Dr. Sawyer, “I was raised in a small town with great parents. My father is a dentist and showed me amazing patient care skills from a young age. I knew very early on that I wanted to be a physician!” After graduation with honors from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, her dermatology residency from 1999 to 2002 prepared Dr. Sarah Sawyer to treat all types of skin conditions. During her residency, she became involved in research, authored medical papers, lectured nationally, and held multiple leadership positions. Her fellowship position in San Diego, California, further established her as an up-and-coming dermatologist. Dr. Sawyer was involved in cutting-edge technology and assisted her mentors in presenting the newest findings in dermatologic surgery, writing book chapters, and teaching students and residents. During this fellowship, Dr. Sawyer was trained by four of the nation’s leading dermatologic surgeons in skin cancer surgery, laser surgery of all types, leg vein treatments, Botox, and soft tissue fillers. In 2003, she returned to Birmingham as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at UAB. There, she continued her involvement with teaching, research, and patient care. Today, Dr. Sawyer is known for her masterful work in cosmetic dermatology and facial rejuvenation utilizing the latest cutting-edge technology.

R. Luke Sturgill, MD is a distinguished board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, graduating at the top of his class and earning induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for his outstanding academic achievements. Dr. Sturgill completed an intensive five-year Head & Neck Surgery residency at the University of Florida, performing over 4,000 procedures with a strong focus on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and nose.
